Safer Dating

Tips for safer dating

Here at FateDate we wanted to highlight some of the steps you can take to keep you and your personal information safe.

Getting to know your connection online is all part of the process, but do they really need to know everything?

Keep all of your personal information, i.e., workplace, home address, details on any children you may have, daily routines etc private until you trust the person you are talking to.

Please be aware of people trying to get your number and email address straight away before meeting in person. Moving conversation away from Fatedates platform doesn’t allow us to monitor your safety when it finally comes to meeting your connection.

FateDate will always recommend using the Date Diary ™ feature when arranging a date, not only will you be able to confirm dates in a safer way but you will also be able to enjoy discounted dates, offered by a whole variety of different dating venues.

Fatedate advise that all meetings especially the first date should always be in a public place and should be arranged so you both meet at the venue. This is important. Don’t agree to being picked up from your home address, it’s never a good idea to give out your home address to a stranger.

We advise when going on a date, especially a first date, to tell a friend or family member that you are going on a date . where, when, and maybe even who you are dating. Seems so simple but useful if a date isn’t going to plan. We also recommend having your safe friend or families contact number at hand on a fully charged device before attending a date.

Alcohol on a date can sometimes lower your guard. Depending on how much you drink. Make sure to always keep an eye on your drink, take it to the toilet with you if you must. But never let it leave your site. Even when it is being poured at the bar. Always Hold it in a position that you could see if someone brushed by and placed something into your drink. Please tell a member of staff immediately if you believe to be a victim of drug spiking, or suspect someone is acting in this manner.

If you want to end your date because the person you have met isn’t your type and you really need to end the date early, simply go to the toilet or somewhere away from your date, go to the DateDiary feature and end your date. This will send a notification over to the other user, that their date has ended.

If you have the courage to tell your date the date is over, face to face, because they are a genuine person then great, you may not need to end the date within the app until you are home. Please leave a date location review.

If you ever feel unsafe or threatened, please let your safe family members know or ask for Angela at the bar or till of the dating venue.

call 999 immediately and seek help if you feel you are in great danger.
